Libyan Embassy Protest, London, Thursday 17th March 2011

When I arrived I was told the last protesters on the roof of the Libyan Embassy had voluntarily come down around about an hour before (around 4pm) as they were cold, tired and hungry after spending 37 hours on the roof (started c.3am Wed 16th March) and were arrested.

Candles outside Libyan Embassy, London 17/03/11
This was the 29th day of daily protest (starting Feb 17th) outside the Libyan Embassy in London. After the protest (2pm - 6pm), as the sun sets and people go home, candles are lit for those who have died.

This afternoon the UNSC began it's debate in New York over resolution 1973 (no fly zone). At 7pm there was still no news on the outcome.
